Letter of congratulations from President Donald Tusk to Mihai Tudose on his appointment as Prime Minister of Romania
On behalf of the European Council, I would like to congratulate you on your appointment as Prime Minister.
As a member of the European Union and upcoming holder of the Presidency of the Council of the EU, Romania plays a particularly active role in supporting a stronger and united Union, as well as a stable and democratic EU neighbourhood.
I trust that your government will provide Romania with stability conducive to the continued development of your country as well as of the European Union, and will continue to contribute constructively in solving common challenges. The rule of law and progress in the fight against corruption, in line with the high expectations of Romanian society and the EU's values, are crucial in ensuring that all Romanian citizens are able to benefit fully from all the opportunities offered by membership of the Union.
