Third EU citizens' initiative targets animal vivisection

The European Commission has officially received 1,173,130 validated signatures of a European Citizens' Initiative which aims at phasing out animal experiments. The “Stop Vivisection” initiative is the third citizens’ legal proposal submitted to the commission since April 2012. It is not binding on the commission.
