Berlijn verdeeld over nieuw Europees fiscaal verdrag (en)

The German government failed Thursday in talks with the opposition to secure the two-thirds majority backing required to pass the EU fiscal treaty through the German parliament. The opposition demands a tax on financial transactions in return for accepting the treaty. New talks are scheduled for 21 June.
