The launch of the Danish website

2012 is the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations. The Year gives us reason to reflect on the fact that the Europeans live longer than ever before and, at the same time, consider how to get the most of out of the extra years of life.

Denmark holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first six months of 2012 and opens the Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations with a conference in Copenhagen on 18-19 January 2012. To celebrate the Danish participation Denmark has launched its national website for the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012.

The website invites people to share experiences with others, play an active role in society and be healthy. It also gives information about up-and-coming conferences such as the opening conference for the European Year 2012 held in Copenhagen on 18th and 19th January.

Moreover the Website seeks to inform visitors about issues on Active Ageing in 2012 through useful links, materials for downloading, and information about events and good practices.
