On 28th-29th November the EU Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council will meet in Brussels .

The first day’s sessions will cover education and youth, while the second day will be devoted to audiovisual issues, culture and sport.

The section of the programme devoted to education envisages the adoption of four documents by the Council: the Council’s conclusions on the mobility of language competence, the Council’s conclusions on the modernisation of higher education, the Council’s resolution on a renewed European agenda for adult learning andthe Council’s conclusions on the level of reference for educational mobility.

In addition, the programme will include a debate among education ministers on how to make effective investment in education and training in times of crisis.

In the section on youth, the programme provides for the adoption by the Council of the document: The Council’s Conclusions on the eastern dimension of youth participation and mobility.

Moreover, a ministerial debate is planned on cooperation in the area of young people in the external dimension of the EU as well as an informal working lunch as part of a structured dialogue with young people which will involve ministers for youth issues, ambassadors and youth representatives from Poland, Hungary, Denmark and Cyprus, the European Youth Forum and the European Commission.

A meeting of Ministers for Sport from the EU Member States will be held as part of this event.

It is planned that the Council adopts the following documents concerning sports: the conclusions on sports volunteering, a resolution on the representation of the EU in WADA and the coordination of the EU position prior to the meetings of WADA, and the conclusions on the fixing of the results in sporting events.

The meeting of Ministers for Sport will be preceded by a working lunch meeting with sports movement.
