Nieuwe ambities voor gebied rondom Baltische Zee worden besproken op jaarlijks forum (en)
On October 24th-26th, the 2nd Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, combined with the 13th Baltic Summit, will take place in Gdansk.
Approximately 700 participants will attend this three-day event, including high-ranking politicians from states of the region, as well as representatives of European institutions, local governments, and business and scientific communities from the Baltic Sea region.
The Forum is co-organised by the Baltic Development Forum, the European Commission, the Marshal’sOffice of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, the City of Gdansk, and the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. This year’s event focuses on the theme New Ambitions for the Baltic Sea Region. In the course of numerous plenary sessions and panel discussions debates, invited guests will discuss the Polish Presidency’s review of the EU Baltic Sea Region Strategy. This is to be the European Union’s first macro-regional strategy. Other debate topics will include the development of economic and technological potential, environmental protection, options for coupling the EU Baltic Sea Region Strategy with EU 2020 Strategy priorities, and co-operation with non-EU countries such as Russia and Norway.
During the Forum, Baltic Sea Award and the Baltic Sea Region Innovation Award will be presented. A number of accompanying events focusing on individual priority areas of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region are being organised.
Forum participants will also be invited to discuss Poland’s potential, advantages, and investment opportunities. The Doing Business in Poland debate will be moderated by Ms Beata Stelmach, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
