Raad heeft G20 voorbereid (en)
On Tuesday, Luxembourg hosted the General Affairs Council chaired by the Secretary of State for European Affairs Mikolaj Dowgielewicz. The Council dealt with preparations for the European Council which is due to take place on 23rd October in Brussels as well as for the G20 Summit which is to be held in Cannes in November.
The European Commission’s proposals for rules on the implementation of cohesion policy for 2014-2020 were analysed during the meeting.
Additionally, the ministers discussed the report presented a few days earlier by the Polish Presidency - Towards a European Consensus on Growth - showing the key sources of EU growth. The report addressed resources that can support the EU in combating the economic crisis.
The Council also dealt with preparations for the G20 Summit, which is to be held in Cannes in November. The summit will be taking place on 3rd-4th November and will deal with the following issues: coordination of economic policy, economic growth, reform of international monetary policy systems and financial regulations.
