Poolse en Portugese minister-presidenten spreken elkaar in Warschau (en)

On Thursday in Warsaw, Prime Minister Donald Tusk i met with the Prime Minister of Portugal Pedro Passos Coelho i. The heads of government held talks covering the current financial and economic situation in the European Union and the eurozone, including methods on how Portugal can extract themselves from the crisis.

‘I wanted to thank you for the very fruitful cooperation between the Polish Presidency and Portugal as regards the future European budget, and in particular cohesion policy,’ Prime Minister Tusk said just before the meeting with Prime Minister Passo Coelho, referring to the ongoing negotiations on the multiannual financial framework.

During the meeting at the Prime Minister's Chancellery in Warsaw, the prime ministers of both countries stressed the need to strengthen European integration. The talks focused on the European Neighbourhood Policy, including the experience of Portugal in the south, and Poland in the east of Europe, including the Eastern Partnership and the Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in Warsaw on September 29-30.
