Ministers discussiëren over Europese gezondheidspolitiek (en)

On 8 September 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in Krynica-Zdrój, during the 21st Economic Forum, a special plenary session will take place focussing on European health policy in the context of the priorities of the Polish Presidency i. The session will be attended by the Minister of Health Ewa Kopacz and the EU Commissioner for Health John Dalli i, together with the Ministers of Health and representatives of European Union countries.

Participants in the panel discussions will consider how to reduce the gap in health between EU Member States, inter alia, how to effectively counteract the phenomena with a negative influence on the health of European societies, e.g. smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, overweight and the lack of physical activity.

The issue of the gap in health related to communication disorders will also be raised, together with the gap related to respiratory system diseases, particularly when occurring in childhood.

The discussion will also focus on the experiences drawn from the crisis connected with the epidemic of E. coli infections.

Before the plenary session, at 6:15 p.m., a short meeting of Minister Ewa Kopacz and Commissioner John Dalli with the media is planned.
