Seminar over leveringsgaranties tijdens internationale beurs defensie-industrie (en)
5th-6th September 2011, during the 19th International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, a seminar devoted to supply security will be held.
It is being organised by the Defence Ministry’s Department of Armament Policy in cooperation with the European Defence Agency (EDA) and with the support of other European states delegating their lecturers (including France, Norway, Sweden and Italy) as well as the European Commission.
During the seminar, a session will be held devoted to the experiences of individual states in ensuring the supply security of arms and military equipment, negotiating agreements between governments and industry in that area as well as international cooperation in the field. Another session will be devoted to discussing further efforts in the realm of supply security.
The objective of the debate is to propose that governments and defence-industry representatives in the EU states should begin work on a Code of Conduct on Security of Supply. In the event that proposal is accepted, their further efforts should focus on developing an inter-government Memorandum of Understanding on supply security. Seminar participants will discuss the initial assumptions of a Code of Conduct in the field of supply security and propose further measures within the EDA framework in cooperation with Member States and industry representatives.

The issue of Security of Supply (SoS) secure deliveries of armaments and military equipment is one of the key tasks of the European Defence Agency. That task involves creating a uniform arms and military equipment market throughout the EU and strengthening cooperation amongst defence industries in EU Member States.
The work in the SoS field launched in the EDA forum in October 2009 has mainly focused on an analysis of practices and legal solutions functioning in this area in individual Member States as well as other multilateral agreements. Its purpose has been to exchange information on the best solutions and practices and strive for their possible harmonisation.
