Poolse premier Donald Tusk in Brussel (en)

On Tuesday the head of the Polish government is going to Brussels. During the one-day visit, Prime Minister Tusk i will meet, amongst others, the Head of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso i and the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek i. The topics of these meetings will include issues associated with economic reforms in the Euro zone i and in the European Union, cooperation within the scope of the Euro Plus pact and the multiannual EU financial framework. There will be discussion about the status of work on the “Six pack i” (the package of six regulations and directives to reform economic governance) as well as other topics. Prime Minister Tusk will also present the concept for the organisation of a special political conference about the EU budget which has been prepared by the Polish Presidency.

During his stay, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will also take part in the inauguration of the Solidarity 1980 Esplanade organised by the European Parliament. The street running along the newest buildings of the EP i in Brussels will carry the name of the Polish trade union. In addition to the head of the Polish Government, the Prime Minister of Belgium Yves Leterme i, the Marshal of the Senate Bogdan Borusewicz and former President Lech Walesa will also take part in the festivities.
