EU consuls praten in Washington over het oversteken van de Amerikaanse grens (en)

Crossing the US border was the main topic of a meeting of EU consuls accredited in Washington, DC.

The meeting organised as part of Poland’s’ EU Council Presidency was held on 22^ndJuly at the Polish Embassy in the US capital. Specialists of the US Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security gave a presentation on the crossing of US borders by citizens of EU Member States.

Among the things discussed was the functioning of the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) and the Global Entry programme. The consuls of EU Member States discussed specific examples of maltreatment at the border or denied entry to citizens of the EU States by US immigration services.
