Commissievoorzitter Barroso benoemt nieuwe persoonlijk vertegenwoordiger bij VN-missie in Cyprus (en)

The President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso i, has decided to appoint M. Jorge César das Neves as his new personal Representative to the Good Offices Mission of the United Nations in Cyprus. M. César das Neves succeeds M. Maurer, who has been successfully carrying out this duty since October 2009 in addition to his functions as Head of the EU i Delegation to Montenegro.

This designation is a further demonstration that President Barroso and the European Commission are fully committed to supporting the Cyprus settlement process and will spare no effort in assisting the United Nations. Mr Cesar das Neves will work in a full time basis to provide advice to the UN Good Offices Mission on EU-related matters.
