On Wednesday Prime Minister Donald Tusk i is due to play host to Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor. This is yet another meeting of the two heads of government, the third in recent times. The main topic of Wednesday’s talks will be issues relating to the preparation of Croatia’s EU Accession Treaty, including technical details of its actual signing. That is most likely expected to take place during Poland’s EU Council Presidency.

Prime Ministers Tusk and Kosor will also discuss bilateral Polish-Croatian cooperation in the economic and administrative fields. The Polish government is interested in an increase of investments by Polish firms in Croatia and other countries of the Western Balkan region.

Both governments also wish to expand cooperation between individual units of state administration (as part of ‘twin cooperation’ projects). For example, the Polish Government is prepared to share with the Croatian authorities its experience with tapping into European funds.

The third topic to be covered during the meeting between Prime Ministers Tusk and Kosor will be the European perspective for the remaining states of the Western Balkan region.
