Polen presenteert website voorzitterschap tweede helft 2011 (en)
The official pl2011.eu Polish Presidency web service is up and running. As of today, the portal shall be the main information channel for current Presidency-related events.
‘When setting up the service, we were concerned about the needs of delegates and journalists attending events related to the Presidency. On the other hand, we wanted to avoid creating a dull official site, opting instead for a website able to appeal to the average citizen as well,’ Konrad Niklewicz, spokesman for the Polish Presidency, told at a press conference. ‘We purposely went for a positive and dynamic layout of the portal.’
The service contains i.a. a description of our programme for the Presidency, an event calendar, a Who is Who guide, and a media accreditation section.
There is also a special Poland-related section, introducing and describing Polish cities not only as sites of traditional historical monuments, but also of modern architecture, contemporary art, alternative culture, and Polish design. The site may also be used to view the About Polska publication drafted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the specific purpose of promoting our country during the Polish Presidency.
Furthermore, the portal contains a number of community and multimedia tools, i.a. a video-blog and references to Presidency channels in social media.
The previous www.prezydencjaue.gov.pl site shall be archived, with an open option of viewing its contents.
