Parlement Slovenië stemt morgen over EU-grondwet (en)

Slovenia is to become the third country to decide on the European Constitution when its parliament votes on the document on Tuesday.

According to news agency APA, the Constitution is expected to pass relatively easily through parliament as none of the seven political parties represented in the parliament has raised severe objections to it.

If the Constitution is accepted, Slovenia will become the third country after Lithuania and Hungary to ratify the document.

MPs are also set to discuss on Tuesday how best to inform the public about the Constitution's content.

The parliament session is to be televised and is expected to be attended by ambassadors from other member states as well as all seven of the Slovene MEPs.

The first country to put the Constitution to a referendum will be Spain on 20 February.

All 25 member states have to ratify the new EU charter before it can come into place.
