Intergovernmental Conferences with Montenegro and Serbia in Brussels

State Secretary Gašper Dovžan will chair the 14th meeting of the Intergovernmental Conference with Montenegro at Ministerial level on Monday, 13 December in Brussels. The following day, 14 December 2021, he will preside over the 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Conference with Serbia at Ministerial level

The Intergovernmental Conferences will be attended by high-level representatives of EU i member states, EU institutions and candidate countries. The Conferences will exchange information and views on the state of play of the negotiation process for EU membership. In line with the enhanced enlargement methodology, they will provide political guidance on the further progress of the negotiation process.

In the context of the Presidency of the Council of the EU, Slovenia is employing its best efforts to give new impetus to EU enlargement.

Therefore, we are particularly pleased that the EU member states have agreed to open Cluster 4 of the negotiations (Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity) with Serbia, comprising four negotiating chapters.
