State Secretary Raščan at the first European Union-Central Asia Economic Forum
State Secretary Stanislav Raščan will be among those taking part in the first EU-Central Asia Economic Forum in Bishkek on Friday, 5 November 2021. The Forum will focus on green and resilient recovery from the social and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Several bilateral meetings are scheduled to be held on the margins of the event.
The participants will be discussing the post-pandemic economic recovery and the importance of regional integration in tackling the challenges and exploring the opportunities in three priority areas - green recovery, digitalisation and improved business environment.
Acting as Minister for Development Cooperation, State Secretary Raščan will address the participants of the plenary session under the heading “High-level interventions”. High representatives of the European Union, EU member states and Central Asian countries will be in attendance at the Forum. On the part of the EU, the Forum will be moderated by Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis i. Representatives of international financial institutions and international organisations will also participate.
The event has been designed as a platform for regional and interregional dialogue aimed at finding common solutions to achieve the regional cooperation goals outlined in the EU Strategy on Central Asia.
