Ministers discuss relations with the United Kingdom and Conference on the Future of Europe

The Portuguese Secretary of State for European Affairs, Ana Paula Zacarias, will be taking part in an informal meeting of Ministers of European Affairs on 20 April, via video conference.

Ana Paula Zacarias will chair this meeting, under the competence of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The meeting will begin with discussions on the position of relations between the EU and the UK, followed by a presentation by the Portuguese Presidency on the preparations for the launch of the Conference on the Future of Europe, including the decisions made by its Executive Board.

Next, the ministers will share ideas and examples of best practices during the analysis to be carried out on the position of the rule of law in five Member States (Germany, Ireland, Greece, Spain and France), under the scope of the rotating Annual Rule of Law Dialogue.

The informal meeting will end with an assessment of the joint EU response to COVID-19 and a presentation by the Presidency on the position of the Enlargement, Stabilisation and Association Process.
