Only in and with the EU can we responsibly shape the global order and be an example for the world - for freedom and fairness. Together we are stronger. But why is that so and how can the EU exert an influence? This video provides an overview.

Germany accounts for less than one per cent of the world's population. That is not enough to stop climate change alone or to shape the world in line with our values such as liberty and democray.

So it is good that we are part of the European Union. With 27 member states and almost half a billion citizens, we are the second largest economic power in the world and a global player in many fields.
