Hearing on Facebook/Cambridge Analytica Case - Part 2
Met dank overgenomen van Europees Parlement (EP) i, EP-Commissie Burgerlijke vrijheden, justitie en binnenlandse zaken (LIBE) i, gepubliceerd op dinsdag 26 juni 2018.
On 4 June 2018 the LIBE Committee - in association with the ITRE, AFCO and JURI Committees - held the first part of the hearing on the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica case. The contributions made by speakers showed the need to further investigate the consequences this data breach has had on data protection and privacy, the possible impact on electoral processes, consumers' trust in digital platforms, cybersecurity, the market position of Facebook etc.
In the second part which took place on 25 June from 15.30 to 20.00, Members questioned experts and Facebook representatives on issues such as data protection implications, alleged election interference and cybersecurity.
