EU counter-terrorism efforts to be debated with Commissioner Avramopoulos

On Monday afternoon, Civil Liberties Committee i MEPs will debate how to ensure the interoperability of the EU’s information systems in the field of counter-terrorism

Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos i and Mr Krum Garkov, the director of the EU agency for IT systems in the area of freedom, security and home affairs (eu-LISA i), will debate with MEPs progress made towards the interoperability of EU systems, from 16.45.

The need to ensure a swift exchange of information in relation to counter-terrorism investigations is high on Parliament’s agenda. In July, the Plenary also voted to set up a new special committee to look into EU counter-terrorism measures.
