Agenda highlights
The ACP-EU Council of ministers will discuss the implementation of the ACP-EU partnership agreement (also known as the Cotonou Agreement), as well as the future of the relations between ACP countries and the EU.
The Council will be co-chaired by George Vella, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, and by Abraham Tekeste, Minister of finance and economic cooperation of Ethiopia.
Cotonou Agreement (background information)
The implementation of the 2030 sustainable development agenda will be examined. Ministers will also discuss climate change in light of the Paris agreement of December 2015.
International agreements on climate action (background information)
With regards to migration, ministers will take stock of the outcome of the Valletta senior officials' meeting and the implementation of the Valletta action plan and the EU emergency trust fund for Africa.
A new migration partnership framework (background information)
In addition, ministers will discuss economic issues, such as development finance cooperation, private sector development and trade cooperation.
