EU-Algeria Association Council, 13/03/2017 - Main results

The Association Council met in Brussels on 13 March 2017. The Association Council adopted the EU-Algeria Partnership Priorities.

At the end of the meeting, the High Representative of the European Union, Federica Mogherini i, who chaired the meeting, and the Algerian Minister of State and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ramtane Lamamra, who led the Algerian delegation, published a joint statement.

Three EU financing agreements were signed during the Association Council. They relate to a programme to support the development of renewable energy and the promotion of energy efficiency in Algeria (€10 million), a programme for the reform of public finances (€10 million) and a programme to support the implementation of the Association Agreement (€20 million).
