EU-Turkey High Level Political Dialogue

EU i confirms strong commitment to dialogue and cooperation with Turkey.

During their official visit to Turkey, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the European Commission F. Mogherini i and Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations J. Hahn i underlined the importance of Turkey as a partner and candidate country.

In a press conference following their meeting with Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister M. Çavuşoğlu and EU Minister Ö.Çelik they praised the frank, open and constructive exchanges.

They reiterated the EU's full and unequivocal solidarity, sympathy and support to the Turkish people and the legitimate and democratically elected institutions in the aftermath of the attempted coup.

They confirmed the strong commitment to dialogue and cooperation in all areas of EU-Turkey cooperation, underlined the importance of the comprehensive EU-Turkey statement of March and stressed the support under the Facility for Refugees in Turkey.
