The sustainable migration policy is one of the priorities of the historically first Slovak Presidency in the Council of the European Union. The current migration crisis creates an enormous pressure on the external borders of the Union and on the Member States´ asylum systems. Therefore it is the ambition of the Slovak Presidency to direct the Union towards the sustainable migration and asylum policy.
