Slovak Government led by Prime Minister Robert Fico meets high representatives of the European institutions
(Brussels, 1 June) - Exactly one month before the beginning of the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Slovak Government met the college of Commissioners for talks in Brussels.
The delegation was led by Prime Minister Robert Fico i, who held bilateral meetings with President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker i and President of the European Council Donald Tusk i. All discussions focused on the forthcoming Slovak Presidency.
The working day in Brussels started with a speech by the Prime Minister to the staff of the Permanent Representation of the Slovak Republic to the EU, attended by Vice-President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič i. Robert Fico then met Presidents Juncker and Tusk, while the individual members of government had bilateral meetings in the European Parliament or in the General Secretariat of the Council. Subsequently, the Slovak Government reconvened at the plenary session and had a working lunch with the college of Commissioners. Topics discussed included the Presidency's priorities in key areas.
