Voorzitter Tusk bezoekt Denemarken en Groenland op 17 en 18 mei 2016

President Tusk will meet Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen i Tuesday morning in Copenhagen to discuss current EU affairs, including the topics of the next European Council in June.

Following the meeting and the press conference and upon the invitation of the Premier of Greenland Mr Kim Kielsen and the Prime Minister of Denmark, President Tusk i will travel to Greenland for a two days visit. The main purpose of the trip is to witness the global effects of climate change that are no place more visible than in Greenland with its retreating glaciers. The trip will take place in the context of implementing the Paris Agreement and the upcoming climate change discussions at the G7 i Summit in Japan and G20 i Summit in China. The visit to Greenland is also an opportunity to further strengthen the relations between Greenland and the European Union.
