Italian Socialist MEP jailed for tax evasion

A court in Cagliari, Italy, sentenced MEP Renato Soru i to three years in prison for tax evasion after he failed to pay €2.6 million in taxes. Soru, a member of Matteo Renzi i's Partito Democratico and founder of telecom company Tiscali, said the ruling was "unfair" and would be overturned.
