EU auditors: infrastructure aid 'limited value for money'

The European Court of Auditors said in a report Monday that rural development programmes funded in the period 2007-2013 "achieved only limited value for money, as aid was not systematically directed towards the most cost-effective projects addressing the objectives". The EU i contributed €13bn and member states almost €6bln.
