The EU referendum in the UK and its Scottish dimension
The European Policy Centre has invited Alex Salmond, MP for Gordon, to discuss the UK's EU referendum on March 2 at 17.30-18.45.
This policy dialogue will seek to put the UK referendum in the context of a fast changing internal UK political landscape and address whether these questions have been adequately factored into the Brexit debate.
Alex Salmond, ex-leader of the Scottish National Party during the Westminster debate on Monday 22 February, stressed the need for the UK governemnt to make a positive case for staying in the EU.
Following the announcement by the UK governement to hold the EU referendum on June 23, the government will support staying in the EU, as will all SNP MPs and all members of the Scotish parliament.
The event will be moderated by Poul Skytte Christoffersen, Chair of the European Policy Centre’s Governing Board.
