EU urges humanitarian plan on Balkan migrant route

The EU Commission and the Netherlands, holding the EU rotating presidency, have called on "all countries and actors along the [Western Balkan migrant] route to prepare the necessary contingency planning to be able to address humanitarian needs", following tightening of border controls and risks of a crisis "especially in Greece".
