Federica Mogherini set to visit Mozambique & South Africa

EU High Representative i Federica Mogherini i will travel to Africa from 24 to 26th of February.

She will visit Mozambique on 24-25 February, where she will meet with President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi and Foreign Minister Oldemiro Balói, as well as representatives of the main political parties and civil society, including business men and women. She will also take this opportunity to visit an EU funded project supporting youth employment.

She will then travel to South Africa, the only EU strategic partner in Africa.

On 26th of February, the HR/VP will participate to the 13th EU-South Africa Ministerial Political Dialogue, in Pretoria with Foreign Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane. This will be the occasion to discuss the long standing relations with South Africa on a whole range of areas of common interest: economic development, youth employment and development cooperation, but also multilateral issues on which the EU and South Africa cooperate such as climate change, migration or the Sustainable Development Goals.

She will also visit Soweto and take part in a panel discussion at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) in Johannesburg.
