EIB could 'theoretically' finance Nord Stream II

European Investment Bank president Werner Hoyer said Thursday the bank was "a natural partner, theoretically" for financing part of the proposed Russia-Germany gas pipeline Nord Stream II, but only if political leaders endorsed its go-ahead. "We have to wait for the outcome of this [political] debate", he added.
