Fisheries
The Council reached agreement on the 2016 fishing opportunities in the Black Sea. Two fish stocks, turbot and sprat, are managed in the Black Sea for Bulgaria and Romania.
Agriculture
Ministers had an exchange of views on a report developed by the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) on "Sustainable agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the bio-economy - A challenge for Europe" A large majority of member states supported the core priorities areas outlined in the report in the context of the preparation of an EU long-term strategy for agricultural research and innovation.
The Presidency reported also to the Council on a tentative agreement reached with the European Parliament on a proposal on school fruit, vegetable and milk scheme.
Sustainable agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the bio-economy
Other items
The Council adopted a directive establishing new rules on insurance distribution, improving consumer protection for insurance products.
