Xavier Bettel will take part in the 'Telecommunications' section of the TTE Council in Brussels
The Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, in his capacity as Minister of Communications and Media, will participate in the work of the Telecommunications section of the 'Transport, Telecommunications and Energy' (TTE) Council in Brussels on 10 and 11 December 2015.
On 10 December, the Prime Minister and the Commissioner Günther Oettinger will bring together Ministers in charge of the Telecommunications and ICT sector, as well as Ministers for Labour, Education and Research during a dinner in order to discuss e-skills in more detail.
On 11 December, the Council will hold a policy debate on the forthcoming review of the EU's regulations in the field of telecommunications.
The Luxembourg Presidency will report on the informal agreement reached on 7 December 2015 with the European Parliament for the draft directive on network and information security.
The Presidency will also present a progress report on the work concerning the rules proposed to facilitate access to public sector websites.
Finally, the future Dutch Presidency will present its working programme in the field of telecommunications.
The session will start at 10 am and will be chaired by Xavier Bettel.
