Austria: refugee costs will be excluded from EU budget target

Austria's finance minister Hans-Jörg Schelling told Austrian public radio that the European Commission will allow his country to have the costs it made to mitigate the refugee crisis excluded from the calculation on its deficit target. "The Commission has recognised that spending for the refugees is both exceptional and unforeseen."
