2,000 confirmed foreign fighters from Europe: Europol

The current director of the EU police agency, Europol, Rob Wainwright, told MEPs on Thursday that "although the general assessment across Europe is that at least 5,000 European nationals have travelled to Syria and to Iraq", his agency could confirm only 2,000 names.
