Catalonia parliament adopts independence plan

Catalonia's parliament adopted Monday, by 72 votes to 63, a motion to start the political process towards independence in the next 18 months, legislating on separate social security and treasury. In reaction, Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy i launched an appeal to the Council of State to deem the process unconstitutional.
