Informal Meeting of Ministers for Employment and Social Affairs of the eurozone to be held in Luxembourg on 5 October 2015
The Minister for Labour, Employment and Social and Solidarity Economy, Nicolas Schmit, and the Minister for Social Security, Romain Schneider, will chair the Informal meeting of Ministers for Employment and Social Affairs of the eurozone to be held in Luxembourg on the morning of 5 October 2015.
This Informal Meeting will provide the first opportunity for Ministers for Employment and Social Affairs of the eurozone to exchange views on the potential added value of such a restricted meeting within the context of extending the governance of Economic and Monetary Union.
"The Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union has convened this Informal Meeting of Ministers for Employment and Social Affairs of the eurozone because we believe it is necessary to be able to have substantial discussions on the specific challenges facing Member States which share the same currency," explained Nicolas Schmit.
The Informal Meeting will be held before the EPSCO Council. For the sake of transparency, the Presidency will notify the EPSCO Council of all the discussions conducted during the Informal Meeting.
