Informal Gymnich Meeting of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs on 4 and 5 September 2015 in Luxembourg
At the joint invitation of the Foreign and European Affairs Minister, Jean Asselborn, and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini i, the EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs will meet on 4 and 5 September 2015 in Luxembourg for their customary informal Gymnich meeting.
On Friday 4 September, the Ministers will first address the various means at the EU's disposal to revitalise the Middle East peace process and to improve the situation in the region. In the presence of Elmar Brok i, the Chair of European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), the Ministers will then turn to the EU's eastern partnership and the Union's relations with Russia.
On 5 September, the Ministers will be joined by representatives of the candidate countries for EU accession to discuss migration and the challenges that the EU and the candidate countries must face in this area. The discussions will then turn to Iran in order to look at EU-Iranian relations following the agreement on Iran's nuclear programme.
