Meeting between Fernand Etgen, President of the Council of Ministers for Agriculture of the European Union, and Phil Hogan, Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development
The current President of the Agriculture Council, Luxembourg Minister Fernand Etgen, met with Commissioner Phil Hogan i in Brussels on 31 August 2015 in order to prepare the Council of Ministers for Agriculture of 7 September 2015. This extraordinary Council will be devoted first and foremost to difficulties faced by the dairy and livestock sectors.
The Presidency recognises the current difficulties faced by breeders and milk producers. A constructive exchange of views took place between the Presidency and the Commissioner. The Commissioner announced that he will present a package of measures at the Council of 7 September 2015.
