German government accuses website of treason

Germany has opened its first treason investigation in 50 years on a website which reported on plans to increase state surveillance of online communications. “The federal prosecutor has started an investigation on suspicion of treason into articles ... published on the internet blog Netzpolitik.org,” a prosecutor’s office spokeswoman said Thursday.
