Topics discussed include:

  • Ahead of the European Council on the June 25-26, Members of the Committee on Budgets will hold a first exchange of views on the situation in the Mediterranean and the need for a holistic EU approach to migration (Tuesday 23 June).
  • Economic governance: in light of the latest developments surrounding Greece, MEPs will propose improvements to the governance of the eurozone. Lawmakers also call for paying more attention to national specificities and the possible spillover effects to other countries (23-24 June).
  • European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI): MEPs will debate and vote on their final recommendation in mini-plenary (Wednesday 24 June).
  • Parliament’s chief negotiators, justice ministers from outgoing and incoming Council Presidency holders Latvia and Luxembourg, and the EU Justice Commissioner will meet to start negotiations on updating EU data protection rules (Wednesday 24 June).
