Romanian minister forced to resign over 'thugs' and 'prostitutes' comments

Romania's transport minister Ioan Rus on Thursday (10 June) was forced to resign after describing the children and wives of emigrating Romanian construction workers as "thugs" and "prostitutes". "For a salary of maybe €1,500 their children become thugs and their wives prostitutes," he said in a television interview.
