EU ombudsman to investigate 'trialogues'

The European Ombudsman, Emily O'Reilly i, announced on Thursday she will investigate the transparency of "trialogues", the informal and secretive meetings of representatives of national governments and the European Parliament which are increasingly used to reach final agreement on details of EU legislation.
