Jennifer Baker is joined by EPP Group spokesperson Antti Timonen to talk about the Commission’s upcoming announcement on the migrant resettlement scheme.
Following the recently-announced European Agenda on Migration, the Commission is due to unveil further details of the resettlement plan on Wednesday. The EPP Group has already said that it supports the idea of resettling migrants between member states according to a formula based on the economic and demographic indicators, as well as existing migrant numbers. The Commission is also likely to begin activation of an existing mechanism on Wednesday, designed to help Member States deal with influxes of migrants.
