China and Russia to hold Mediterranean drill

The Chinese and Russian navies have planned a joint exercise in the Mediterranean Sea for mid-May, the Chinese ministry of defence said Thursday. While the two navies have carried out several drills in the Pacific Ocean since 2012, it is the first time they have one this close to Europe.
