Merkel under pressure to investigate NSA spying

The German Social Democrats, the junior partner in Merkel i's grand coalition government, want an immediate investigation into allegations that the Chancellor's office ignored warnings in 2008 and 2010 about US National Security Agency (NSA) spying. Pressure is growing on German Intelligence Service chief Gerhard Schindler to resign, Spiegel reported.
