Jennifer Baker is joined by Antti Timmonen, spokesperson for the EPP Group, to discuss the European Parliament agenda for this week:

  • On Wednesday 29 April, a resolution calling for concrete actions to halt the drowning of Mediterranean migrants and refugees will be put to vote
  • European Security Strategy: MEPs are to debate with the Commission on the key priorities and actions to fight terrorism (vote on Wednesday 28 April)
  • Also on Wednesday, discussion on the implementation of European Social Fund rule changes to help member states fight against youth unemployment
  • Emergency call system: if voted on Tuesday 28 April, the controversial “eCall” would have to be fitted to all new models of cars and light vans by 31 March 2018
